Brittany Decker Receives Western New England College Excellence in Communication Award

SPRINGFIELD, MA (06/20/2011)(readMedia)-- Brittany M. Decker of Bristol, CT received the Excellence in Communication Award during Baccalaureate ceremonies at Western New England College. The award is given to a graduating senior with the highest overall grade-point average in Communication.
Decker graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts. She is a member of the Lambda Pi Eta, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies. While at Western New England, she traveled to Haiti to provide aid to some of the nation's poorest villages, and to Cambodia to document the work of a local charitable foundation. A video she produced on the foundation's work was honored by the Associated Press Broadcasters Association. In addition, Decker is the reigning Miss Connecticut, representing the state in the Miss America pageant.
Western New England College is a private, independent, coeducational institution founded in 1919.
