Brittany Walker Honored at Western New England University

SPRINGFIELD, MA (06/13/2012)(readMedia)-- Brittany J. Walker of Canandaigua, NY, received the Excellence in Forensic Chemistry Award during Baccalaureate ceremonies at Western New England University. The award is presented to a graduating senior with the highest grade point average and demonstrated commitment to advancing the field. John Drawec, assistant professor of Physical and Biological Sciences, presented the award, praising Walker as "the ideal mentor to other students."

Walker graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. She is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society. While at Western New England, Walker served as a Freshman Seminar Assistant, Lab Teaching Assistant, and Chemistry tutor. She also participated in Pep Band, Campus Activities Board, CARE, Forensic Science Club, the Criminal Justice Association, and Residence Hall Association.
