NEW YORK, NY (06/02/2008)(readMedia)-- On Friday, June 6, 2008, over 800 middle school students from MS 391 and IS 313 will gather to demonstrate how they made a difference in their communities through service. Through a year-long collaboration with Children for Children and Zaner Bloser, students have used the VOICES character education curriculum and Grow Involved® Service-Learning Kit to elevate their reading achievement while learning the meaning and importance of civic engagement.
At this event, students will celebrate and reflect on their service experience while participating in an array of hands-on service projects such as:

VOICES Character Education Curriculum, a school-based program that uses authentic, multicultural literature to promote literacy, values, and prevention.
