Brooklyn Funeral Director James Whitty Appointed to New Volunteer Disaster Commission

ALBANY, NY (11/15/2007)(readMedia)-- James Whitty of Brooklyn has been appointed to serve on the Family Assistance Commission (FAC) organized by the New York State Funeral Directors Association (NYSFDA) to respond to disasters occurring in New York State. As a FAC member, Whitty will interview survivors and process paperwork to assist in identifying and facilitating the release of remains to the next of kin. He was chosen to serve on this commission due to his extensive experience as a funeral director in New York State.
Whitty of Joseph G. Duffy Funeral Home in Brooklyn, NY has been a licensed funeral director for 11 years. He has broad experience in helping families make funeral arrangements for their loved ones with great care and compassion.
FAC will operate under the auspices of the New York State Tribute Foundation, which is the charitable arm of NYSFDA. The NYS Tribute Foundation is a non-profit foundation dedicated to supporting education, outreach and research programs that advance the public's understanding of end-of-life issues.
