ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (11/25/2013)(readMedia)-- The C-SPAN Bus, the cable network's traveling interactive multimedia center, will visit Flagler College on Dec. 5. The bus will be parked in front of the Ringhaver Student Center from 1-3 p.m., and will be open to tours for students, faculty/staff and community members.
C-SPAN uses the vehicle for community outreach across the country to showcase the network's video library and educational resources.
The Bus is equipped with touchscreen computers that demonstrate C-SPAN's many websites, including C-SPAN Classroom, Congressional Chronicle and Book TV. Visitors can also test their knowledge of public affairs through quizzes and tune into live feeds of C-SPAN broadcasting.
C-SPAN (Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network) is a private non-profit company, created in 1979 by the cable television industry as a public service. C-SPAN receives no government funding; operations are funded by fees paid by cable and satellite affiliates who carry C-SPAN programming.
