CCU students organize benefit for Hurricane Florence relief

Seventeen Coastal Carolina University students held a Hurricane Florence relief event on Monday, Nov. 12, at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach that raised $1,000.

"We were excited to partner with House of Blues on obtaining a bit of relief for those affected by Hurricane Florence and its aftermath," says Deborah Breede, a professor of communication at CCU who teaches a communication activism course. "This disaster has impacted our community, our campus, and our students. My students stand 'Carolina Strong' with House of Blues and Horry County in order to raise funds for hurricane relief."
