CPS will present the National Players production of Charles Dickens’ “A Tale of Two Cities” on May 11.

POTSDAM, NY (04/05/2016)(readMedia)-- Community Performance Series will present the National Players theatrical production of "A Tale of Two Cities" for school groups on Wednesday, May 11 at 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Theater at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music.

Charles Dickens' novel following the people of France and Britain during the Reign of Terror is vividly brought to life in this bold new adaptation by Benjamin Kingsland. Justice, sacrifice, class, love and duty are put to the test as leaders are beheaded and a people rebel. As blood flows in the streets, the play challenges viewers to wonder if anyone is truly innocent.

Now celebrating its 67th season, National Players is a unique ensemble bringing innovative theater to communities large and small across the United States. Founded in 1949, National Players is the longest-running tour company in America, stimulating youthful imagination and critical thinking by presenting classic plays in contemporary and accessible ways.
