CSU Voice Major sings with Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra
COLUMBUS, GA (10/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Mezzo-soprano Jeanette Luna, of Lawrenceville, Ga., will be a featured vocal soloist in two concerts with the Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra this weekend, Oct. 20 and 21.
Luna, a Vocal Performance major in her junior year of study at Columbus State University, will perform well-known arias from the operas Roberto Devereux, Anna Bolena, and Lucrezia Borgia, by Gaetano Donizetti, and will also collaborate, as soloist on Giacomo Puccini's "Madrigale", from Manon Lescaut, with the Vermont Philharmonic Chorus. The concerts, which will take place in the Barre Opera House, in Montpelier, VT, are a result of Performance and Orchestral Awards she received at the 2012 Bel Canto Institute, in Florence, Italy, last summer, where her talents were recognized and encouraged by coaches from the Metropolitan Opera.
Ms. Luna is a student of vocal instructor Dian Lawler-Johnson, in the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University.
