CU-Lock Haven Students Meet with State Rep. Ismail Smith-Wade-El

Students with the Commonwealth University-Lock Haven Gender and Sexuality Alliance Club and the Black Student Union met with State Rep. Ismail "Izzy" Smith-Wade-El (D-Lancaster) at the PA State Capitol Building on Monday, April 29. Students learned about internships and public affairs issues.

Rep. Smith-Wade-El identifies as queer and is an advocate for public higher education, racial equity and LGBTQ concerns. The visit was coordinated by Dr. Rick Schulze, chairperson, CU-Lock Haven Commission on LGBTQ Affairs; Patricia Hunter, MA, LPC, counselor; and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
