CU/TCHS Concert Bands To Perform March 9

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (03/01/2010)(readMedia)-- The Campbellsville University Concert Band and Taylor County Concert Band will perform a joint concert Tuesday, March 9 at 8 p.m. in Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.

This is the annual winter concert by the bands, according to Jennifer Tinnell, director of bands and conductor of the Campbellsville University Concert Band.

The CU Concert Band will perform "The Good Daughter Overture" by Niccolo Piccini and "Credence" by Claude T. Smith.

Dr. Scott Bersaglia, assistant professor of music, will conduct "Sketches on a Tudor Psalm" by Fisher Tull and Nell Chaudoin, graduate assistant from Springfield, Ky., will conduct the group in "Pacem" by Robert Spittal.

The Taylor County High School Concert Band is conducted by Stephen Bishop, a 2004 graduate of Campbellsville University.

The TCHS Concert Band will perform "Triumphant Fanfare" by Richard Saucedo, "Nimrod" from Enigma Variations by Edward Elgar, "Symphonic Triptych" by James Curnow and "Inglesina-the Little English Girl" by David Delle Ceese.

"We hope you will be able to join us for this night of beautiful music," Tinnell said. "You won't want to miss hearing these young talented musicians from our community."
