ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (10/20/2010)(readMedia)-- "Cabaret" opens at Elizabethtown College at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28. The landmark musical--with book by Joe Masteroff and music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb--runs through Sunday, Nov. 7.

"Cabaret" depicts the dark haven of decadent 1931 Berlin. As the Third Reich rises, wild young Brit Sally Bowles (Clara DeAngelo '12) and associates-American, German and Jewish-keep up their spirits in the deceptive shadows of the Kit Kat Klub, and risk losing themselves in the song and dance of the cabaret.

The cast of 20 includes first-year students Mike Wawrzynek as Cliff Bradshaw; Owen Howson as Kit Kat Klub Boy; and Stephen Boyhont and Andrew Cappelli in the ensemble; sophomores Ethan Shearer as The MC; Brian Booker playing Herr Schultz; and Betty Lai and Amy Osterhoudt as Kit Kat Klub Girls; juniors Pauline Jarvie playing Fräulein Kost; Gabe Robinson as Ernest Ludwig; Hayley Mazzur as a Kit Kat Klub Girl; and David Hiddeman in the ensemble; and seniors Abbie Ricker as Fräulein Schneider; Becky Altland, Melissa Fitts, and Emily Knitter, playing Kit Kat Klub Girls; and Travis Lucas, Michael O'Connell and Nate Shughart, as Kit Kat Klub Boys.

Show times are 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, through Saturday, Oct. 30; 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, and Friday, Nov. 5.; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7. Tickets, $7, are available through the Theatre Box Office by calling 717-361-1170 or by sending an e-mail request to boxoffice@etown.edu.
