Caitlin Parker graduates from Chadron State

CHADRON, NE (01/13/2011)(readMedia)-- Caitlin Parker of Rock Springs was among the 195 graduates who were conferred degrees by Chadron State College during winter commencement exercises Friday, Dec. 17.
Parker was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree after completing studies in business administration with an emphasis in marketing and entrepreneurship. Parker also delivered the ceremony's opening "moment of reflection."
The list of degree candidates included 59 who were earning advanced degrees and 36 who graduated with honors. Thirty-eight of the graduates completed their coursework this summer.
Lee Baumann of St. Louis, Mo., a 1973 Chadron State College graduate who is senior vice president for State Farm Insurance Companies, delivered the commencement address.
The event featured music by the CSC Brass Ensemble and the presentation of colors by the CSC Reserve Officer Training Corps. Dr. Janie Park, CSC president, and Dr. Lois Veath, CSC vice president for academic affairs, conducted the ceremony. Larry Teahon of Chadron, chairman of the Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees, also spoke.
