Caledonia's Natalie Zanella named NACC Softball Pitcher of the Week

AURORA, IL (04/10/2014)(readMedia)-- Aurora University junior softball pitcher Natalie Zanella (Caledonia, Wis./Union Grove H.S.) was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 6.

Zanella went 4-0 in the circle for the Spartans who are 10-8 overall and 4-0 in the NACC in 2014. She had two shutouts with four complete games on the week. In her 28 innings pitched, she struck out 14 batters while allowing five runs with only two being earned.

Thus far in 2014, Zanella has a 5-3 record with a 2.64 earned run average, 20 strikeouts and seven complete games.

Next action for the Spartan softball team comes on Wednesday, April 9 when they travel to Benedictine University. Game one is set for 3:00 p.m. in Lisle, Ill.
