Call to Local Artists - 40th Annual Juried Art Exhibition at LVC Accepting Entries

ANNVILLE, PA (03/24/2011)(readMedia)-- Local artists are invited to enter artwork in the 40th Annual Juried Art Exhibition at Lebanon Valley College. Artwork submissions will be accepted March 25-27; the exhibition will be on display at the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery April 8-23.

The Gallery is honored to present the artistic riches of the region in the Juried Art Exhibition at LVC. This College tradition will feature an abundant variety of paintings, drawings, sculpture, assemblage and photographs. Over 200 entries are submitted each year, making this a highly competitive exhibition that displays a range of talent among regional artists. This year's juror is Dr. Phillip J. Earenfight, director of the Trout Gallery and associate professor of art and art history at Dickinson College.

All artists are encouraged to enter their works in the show. Prizes will be awarded for first through fourth place. Two honorable mentions will also be acknowledged for their achievement.Intake dates for artwork are March 25, 12-7 p.m.; March 26, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; and March 27, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. A maximum of four works in any medium may be entered; entry fee is $15 per work. The exhibition will be on display in the Gallery from Friday, April 8 through Sunday, April 23. All are welcome to attend the opening reception and awards ceremony on Friday, April 8 from 5–7p.m. The Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery is open Wednesdays, 5–8 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 1–4:30 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and by appointment for tour groups.
