Campbellsville University Organ Concert Series for 2017-18

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (08/29/2017) (readMedia)-- CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University's music department will hold her 10th Annual Noon Organ Recital Series beginning Sept. 12 for the 2017-18 academic year.

All concerts, all on Tuesdays, are free for the public to attend and begin at 12:20 p.m. ending at 12:50 p.m. for those attending to return to work. More information on specific concerts will be released approximately a month before the show.

The series provides organ music from the 1894 Farrand and Votey Organ in Ransdell Chapel which is enlarged to 51 ranks by Moeller, Pilcher and Milnar Organ Companies.

One concert, on Nov. 14, will be in Our Lady Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 429 N. Central Ave., Campbellsville, Ky., on the church's 1875 Pomplitz Organ which was restored to its original condition of 10 ranks by B. Rule Organ Company. The church is located beside the Gosser Fine Arts Center, 210 University Drive, Campbellsville.

The other concerts will be in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.

The concerts follow: Sept. 12- Nevalyn Moore, Professor Emerita of Organ, Campbellsville University, Campbellsville, Ky.;

Oct. 3 - David Lamb, councilor for membership, American Guild of Organists, director of music, Trinity United Methodist Church, New Albany, Ind.; Nov. 14- Mark DeAlba, organist, Central Baptist Church, Lexington, Ky.;

Feb. 6, 2018 - James Sperry, professor emeritus of organ, Greensburg, Ky.;

March 6 - John A. Deaver, director of music/organist, Trinity Episcopal Church, Covington, Ky.; April 10 – Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music at Campbellsville University, with faculty from the School of Music at Campbellsville University.

The university will hold two other concerts, not among the Noon Organ Series, at 8 p.m. in Randsell Chapel. Roberts will give an organ concert Jan. 30, and Kevin Vaughn, director of music and organist at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in South Bend, Ind., will perform Feb. 27.
