CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (08/14/2014)(readMedia)-- Campbellsville University's new master of management and leadership program offers a management component that broadens the university's School of Business and Economics academic offerings.

Formerly the master of arts in organization leadership, the degree was shifted to a management emphasis to increase the attractiveness of the degree program for prospective students, including international students and graduates.

Dr. Bill Adams, assistant professor of business, serves as adviser for the program. "Our program is unique," he said. "It utilizes faculty from disciplines such as communication."

"The master's program emphasizes management and leadership from a strong Christian perspective, which is heavily needed in today's professional workplace," Adams said.

He said some students want a recognized graduate business degree without the quantitative courses that are required in the master of business administration (MBA) program.

He said the master MML program offers this option to students and the opportunity to grow in the management field, while enhancing the leadership aspect in their studies.

The primary target group of students for the MML is individuals with a bachelor's degree who are interested in pursuing graduate study in order to become better leaders within businesses or organizations.

The MML teaches students key organizational leadership fundamentals such as ethics, motivation, creativity, vision, strategic planning, teamwork, group development, technology, customer service, and organizational development.

The MML is available in a fully online format and at the Louisville Education Center. The 30-hour program can be completed in as little as one year. The online program will be offered in five eight-week sessions.

If students want to complete the program in one year, they can take two classes per session. Otherwise, they can take longer by completing one class per session.

There are two startups per year in July and January.
