CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (11/16/2011)(readMedia)-- Campbellsville University will host Greenville College for the 2011 Victory Bowl this Saturday, Nov. 19 at Finley Stadium, the National Christian College Athletics (NCCAA) announced Sunday evening. Kickoff time is at 1 p.m.

The game will be televised on WLCU-TV on Comcast Cable channel 22 in Taylor County and will be streamed live online. Also, radio coverage of the game will be provided locally by WLCU 88.7 FM (wlcufm.com) and by WGRN 89.5 (wgrn.net) in Greenville, Ill.

"We are excited to host the Victory Bowl this year at Campbellsville University," said Rusty Hollingsworth, CU athletic director. "The National Christian College Athletic Association does an excellent job in providing quality experiences for our student-athletes in the post season. We are glad to be associated with athletic programs in the NCCAA that honor Christ through athletic competition."

This will be the first postseason football game hosted at Campbellsville University since the first round of the 2001 NAIA playoffs. It's the program's fifth postseason appearance overall.

"I think it's a growth for our program once again. We're becoming consistent postseason performers. I think that's huge, not only for our recruits, but for the stability and tradition of the program," said Perry Thomas, Campbellsville head coach. "To be able to have it here on our campus is great publicity for us and will help move our program and campus forward."

Campbellsville (6-5) will appear in the game for the second time in its four-year membership of the NCCAA. The Tigers traveled to North Greenville University (S.C.) last year for the game, falling, 42-16, to the rising NCAA Division II program. Greenville (7-3) will make its second appearance in three years and third overall. The Panthers hosted the 2009 Victory Bowl, coming up short to Geneva College, 29-28.

Saturday's matchup will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

Campbellsville enters the week having won its last three games after dropping four straight mid-season games. The Fighting Tigers defeated West Virginia Tech at home Saturday, 32-23 to wrap up its third-straight winning record for a regular season.

Greenville carries a seven-game win streak into week after losing the first three games of the season. The Panthers closed their regular season Saturday at Presentation College (S.D.) with a 41-17 win.

In addition to the game, Victory Bowl festivities will include a series of Christian Service Projects throughout the Taylor County and surrounding areas and a Victory Bowl banquet Friday evening.
