Campbellsville University's last Noon Organ Recital for academic year is April 11

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (04/04/2017) (readMedia)-- The final Campbellsville University Noon Organ Recital of the academic year will be given on Tuesday, April 11 at 12:20 p.m. in Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.

The recital will be the annual end-of-the year program featuring faculty members from the School of Music in literature for instruments and organ.

Scheduled to participate will Dr. Bethany Stiles (mezzo-soprano), Randall Olson, (violin) and Dr. Wesley Roberts (organ). The music of J. S. Bach and Johan Svendsen will be featured along with others.

The recital is free and open to the public. It concludes at 12:50 p.m. in order for attendees to return to work on their lunch hour.

Dr. Bethany Stiles serves as assistant professor of music at Campbellsville University. She has previously served as a faculty member at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania and the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire.

Stiles has sung in numerous operatic and musical theater roles as well as professional solos in oratorios and cantatas across the country.

Randall Olson serves as adjunct instructor in music at Campbellsville University. He is co-concertmaster of Orchestra Kentucky in Bowling Green and has been a member of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, the Nashville Symphony and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

He has taught violin for more than 40 years and has been a recitalist as both soloist and collaborative artist.

Roberts is completing his 35th year as a member of the Campbellsville University music faculty teaching courses in piano, organ, musicology, ethnomusicology and hymnology. He has presented concerts as pianist and organist throughout the United States and in Europe and China.

Roberts will be a guest presenter at the 2017 Conference of the European Piano Teachers Association in Helsinki, Finland this coming August.

The series provides organ music from the 1894 Farrand and Votey Organ in Ransdell Chapel which is enlarged to 51 ranks by Moeller, Pilcher and Milnar Organ Companies.
