AIKEN, SC (07/27/2018) The University of South Carolina Aiken Classified Employees Assembly took the opportunity to lead the campus-wide school tools drive to help the United Way provide school supplies to area students.

"We wanted to be a part of something positive in Aiken County," said CEA Chair Carmen Williams.

"I believe that providing children with school supplies will prepare them for a successful school year. Students should be focused on their school work and not the amount of supplies that they have or don't have."

Faculty, staff and students who were on campus this summer donated boxes of the requested items. Some local students will be sporting USC Aiken Pacers notebooks in their classrooms, thanks to the university's donors.

"We were thankful for the opportunity to collect these items for students around Aiken County," Williams said.
