Candidates Sought for the Edna A. Lauterbach Nursing Scholarship
Open to New York Nurses interested in home and community-based nursing
EAST GREENBUSH, NY (04/05/2007)(readMedia)-- The Health Care Providers Self-Insurance Trust, an affiliate of the New York State Association of Health Care Providers, Inc., is now accepting applications for the Edna A. Lauterbach Scholarship.
The Edna A. Lauterbach Scholarship Fund for New York State nurses assists registered and licensed practical nurses with training or education that will enhance skills in the clinical or business area toward the goal of fulfilling an entrepreneurial dream in home or community-based care. Applicants can apply to receive a scholarship up to $2,000.
"The scholarship fund was established in memory of Edna Lauterbach, who passed away in 1998", said Phyllis Wang, HCP president. "Edna believed that skilled nurses are essential to home care and she often times encouraged young people to pursue a career in home care through the nursing profession."
Applications for the program are due by Wednesday, August 1, 2007. Recipients will be announced at HCP's Annual Home Care Management Conference & Exposition in the fall.
