Carlos Gomez-Nunez Receives Don R. and Judith C. Carter Award

MILLERSVILLE, PA (06/10/2014)(readMedia)-- Carlos A. Gomez-Nunez, Lancaster, Pa., has been selected to receive the Don R. and Judith C. Carter Award. Gomez-Nunez will graduate from J.P. McCaskey East High School and will attend Millersville University of Pennsylvania this fall to study marine biology.

The Don R. and Judith C. Carter Award is awarded to an incoming freshman graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School who intends to concentrate in business or a biological or physical science. It is a renewable award in the amount of full tuition, with half the annual tuition to be distributed as a credit on the bill for each of the first two semesters. The award is provided through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Don R. Carter. Don Carter is an alumnus of McCaskey High School and his wife, Judith, is an alumna of Millersville University and an active volunteer for Millersville University Alumni Association activities.

Gomez-Nunez earned exceptional grades while completing many courses at the honors, Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate levels. Throughout high school he was a member of the Spanish Honor Society and the gifted program. He volunteered to aid community construction projects staffed by volunteers. In 11th grade he helped organize youth related activities with his church ministry and assisted with some after school activities/projects.
