Carlyle Kaufmann of St. Mary's City Awarded Gough-Broun Scholarship

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (01/06/2014)(readMedia)--  Carlyle Kaufmann, a St. Mary's City, Md., native and junior at St. Mary's College of Maryland, was recently awarded the Gough-Broun Scholarship. Established in 2001 by Joseph Marion Gough, Jr., the scholarship benefits graduates of St. Mary's Ryken High School who have academic merit.

At St. Mary's College of Maryland, Kaufmann is studying economics. He hopes to pursue an MBA and own an event planning business.

Outside of the classroom, Kaufmann enjoys running as well as wedding and event planning.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
