Carson-Newman students Dill and Oblesby perform Senior Recital

Carson-Newman senior Clay Oglesby performed several solos during his joint senior recital with classmate Sarah Dill

JEFFERSON CITY, TN (03/11/2013)(readMedia)--  Carson-Newman University seniors Sarah Dill and Clay Oglesby performed their senior recital March 8 in C-N's Thomas Recital Hall.

Dill, a soprano vocalist, performed selections from Bach, Strauss, Debussy and others. She was accompanied by Joseph North, staff accompanist, on the piano and Belén Hernandez, a music theory student, on violin.

Dill is the daughter of John and Kathy Dill of Strawberry Plains.

The recital also highlighted the vocal skills of senior baritone Clay Oglesby, of Knoxville. He performed selections from Handel, Schubert, Mozart, Copland and others. He was also accompanied by North.

Oglesby is the son of Tim and Lora Oglesby.

A brief reception followed the recital.

The senior recital was presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Bachelor of Music degree in music education, vocal emphasis. Dill and Oglesby are students of Dr. Angela Holder.

Carson-Newman University is a private, coeducation, Christian liberal arts university. Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman is located in Jefferson City, Tennessee, among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The University has approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
