Cary native Jenna Brankin Named to the NCHA All-Rookie Team

The freshman goaltender at Lake Forest College ranks second in the league with a .937 save percentage.

LAKE FOREST, IL (02/27/2012)(readMedia)-- The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association released its 2011-12 All-NCHA Team on Thursday and Lake Forest College's Angie Chronis (Ann Arbor, Mich./Victory Honda/Pioneer) was on the list. In addition, fellow Forester Jenna Brankin (Cary, Ill./Chicago Young Americans/Prairie Ridge) was selected to the league's All-Rookie Team.

Chronis, a junior, ranks fourth among NCHA defensemen with 15 points on two goals and a team-high 13 assists. She also leads the Foresters with a +11 plus/minus rating. The team captain has played in all 24 of Lake Forest's games so far this season. In 75 career games, she has recorded 34 points on six goals and 28 assists and is +38.

Brankin, a freshman goaltender, is currently 6-4-0 and ranks second in the NCHA with a .937 save percentage and sixth with a goals against average of 1.96. She has three shutouts on the season.

The Foresters finished the regular season with an overall record of 13-9-2 and a 12-7-1 mark in NCHA play. Lake Forest tied for fourth place in the league standings and defeated College of St. Scholastica on Saturday and Sunday in the NCHA quarterfinals.
