Catherine DiNitto has been elected to Phi Beta Kappa at UNH

DURHAM, NH (09/28/2012)(readMedia)-- Catherine DiNitto of Danvers, daughter of Walter and Lynn DiNitto, has been elected to the University of New Hampshire chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most prestigious scholarly honor society in the United States. DiNitto graduated in May, with a BA degree in English Teaching.

Juniors need a 3.8 GPA and seniors a 3.5 GPA for all liberal arts courses and at least one math and one foreign language class.  Phi Beta Kappa recognizes achievement and academic excellence in the liberal arts and sciences.

Founded in 1776 at the College of William and Mary in Virginia as a secret social and literary fraternity, Phi Beta Kappa has 280 chapters in the foremost institutions of higher education in the country.  The UNH chapter dates from 1952.
