Celebrate the Holiday Season with The Mendelssohn Club

DELMAR, NY (12/10/2019) (readMedia)-- The Mendelssohn Club of Albany will help ring in the season with its traditional holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 13th at The Egg. The club's 111th holiday concert - "A Wonderful Time of Year" - will feature a range of traditional, classical and modern holiday-themed music.

"As always, we look forward to providing our audience with a great musical holiday experience, and performing with the very talented Carla Fisk," said Mendelssohn Club president, Michael Donegan. "Our holiday concert is a longstanding Capital Region tradition, and it's a great way to begin the holiday season."

Joining the club as a guest artist for the evening will be soprano Carla Fisk. Ms. Fisk is a Capital Region vocal artist and regional winner of the Metropolitan National Council Auditions who has performed around the New York metropolitan area and in Rome, Italy.

About the Mendelssohn Club: A Capital Region tradition since 1909, the 60-voice male chorus is the area's longest continually performing arts group. The club is composed of men from the Capital District, Hudson Valley and Berkshire regions, and performs a full range of male choral selections from around the world. The Mendelssohn Club is conducted by Jeffrey L. Vredenburg. Mr. Vredenburg is a graduate of the Crane School of Music, State University College at Potsdam, New York where he majored in Music Education, Voice, and Piano. His post-graduate education includes a master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the State University of New York in Albany and choral conducting seminars with Donald Neuen, Dale Warland, Robert Page, Gregg Smith, and Margaret Hillis. Pianist Michael Clement serves as the club's accompanist. Mr. Clement was trained at the Eastman School of Music, the University of Arizona, and the University of Southern California.
