CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (10/07/2016)(readMedia)-- Homecoming is time for alumni to come back and visit their alma mater. This Homecoming Campbellsville University will be welcoming the classes of 1956 and 1966 back on campus.

Along with alumni coming back, so will all their special moments and stories from their time here at CU. "It's exciting to think of all the alumni coming back to campus," Darryl Peavler, director of alumni relations, said.

"They are all from different walks of lives, states and even countries. It's a great time for them to reconnect and see what CU is doing, the strides she's making and the lives she's touching."

Peavler, who is spearheading his first Homecoming as director of alumni relations, said, "I'm very excited to see our alumni family return to campus to reconnect with classmates and relive their Campbellsville College/University Days.

"My hope in planning Homecoming is to create a series of events that will make a lasting impression on anyone who attends.

"Campbellsville University is a wonderful school that has changed so many lives over the years, mine being one of them! I want to see the excitement grow as folks come back to campus to celebrate being a Tiger!"

The class of 1956 will be recognized at a special dinner for its 60th year class reunion on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 5:30 p.m. The class will be given a complimentary meal held in their honor in the Chowning Executive Dining Hall in the Winters Dining Hall.

On Friday, Oct. 14 in the Badgett Academic Student Center's Banquet Hall, there will be a reunion and luncheon for the class of 1966. Starting at 11 a.m. the class of 1966 will be having a reunion; this will be time to reconnect with each other and for fellowship.

At noon, the Pioneer College Catering Inc. is serving a lunch that will be free for the class of 1966 in honor of its 50th class year reunion. All Golden Heritage Club members, those who graduated 50 years ago and earlier, are invited to attend the luncheon.

Afterward at 2 p.m. in The Gheens Recital Hall, the Class of 1966 will officially be inducted into the Golden Heritage Club. Family, friends and other members are welcome to attend this ceremony.

The ceremony is similar to that of a graduation ceremony. The inductees will be brought on stage, given a sash, pin and a certificate.

All are invited. For more details, contact Darryl Peavler, director of alumni relations, at (270) 789-5216 or dgpeavler@campbellsville.edu.
