DANVILLE, KY (09/17/2012)(readMedia)-- Josh Jerome of Malden, a sophomore at Centre College in Danville, Ky., was a guest speaker at the College's announcement that AARP would sponsor its Debate Festival on campus Oct. 11, 2012. The festival, in conjunction with the vice presidential debate to be televised live from Centre's campus that evening, will feature live music along with other activities designed to allow the public to share in the excitement of this history-making event.
Jerome was selected to represent Centre's students in his role as a member of the executive council of the College's Student Government Association.
"As I addressed the people who attended the ceremony, I realized that I was not only speaking for myself, but for the entire student body," Jerome says. "In the end, it was both exciting and humbling to know that I was only a representative for all the students that could not be there. "
Jerome is the son of Samuel and Jardine Jerome of Malden and is a graduate of Malden High School.
