Centre's Emily Bachert receives awards from the National Golf Coaches Association

DANVILLE, KY (05/14/2010)(readMedia)-- Centre College sophomore Emily Bachert of Bowling Green has been named to the National Golf Coaches Association Division III All-American First Team, as well as to the NGCA All-Region Team. She was named to the Great Lakes All-Region Team.
Bachert currently holds a compare record of 341-1 and she has a scoring average of 78.98.
During the regular season Bachert helped lead the team in winning four of their five events. She won all of the tournaments that the Colonels competed in as a team.
The Colonels then competed in the SCAC Championships on Friday, April 23 through Sunday, April 25 and the team had their best ever finish as they took second place. Bachert led the way for Centre as she took third place with a score of 243 and the team completed the three rounds with an overall score of 1019. The tournament took place at Stone Mountain Golf Course in Atlanta, Ga.
The women's team advanced to the 2010 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships, which is being played at the Mission Inn Resort in Hoey-in-the-Hills, Fl. The event is being played from Tuesday, May 11 through Friday, May 14. Centre advanced to the tournament after receiving an at large bid.
