Champions Named in Iowa State Fair Hampshire Sheep Show

DES MOINES, IA (08/28/2017) (readMedia)-- Helds Hampshires of Aurora, S.D. exhibited the Champion Ram in the Hampshire Sheep show judged Thursday, August 17 at the 2017 Iowa State Fair. The South Dakota farm also claimed the Reserve Champion Ewe banner and placed first in the Premier Exhibitor competition.

Bobendrier Hampshires operated by Charles Bobendrier of Pipestone, Minn., claimed Reserve Grand Champion Ram and second place in the Premier Exhibitor contest.

Kjeldgaard Farms of Tekamah, Neb., took home the Reserve Champion Ewe banner.

Third place in the Premier Exhibitor contest was awarded to Underwood Farms of Spirit Lake.

The Premier Exhibitor award is given to the exhibitor who accumulates the most points based upon the day's placings.
