SPRINGFIELD, MA (09/06/2011)(readMedia)-- Chris Krupa of Chicopee, MA, received second prize in the Western New England University 5th Annual Dean's Prize for Literary and Cultural Studies. Krupa's essay, entitled "A Ruptured Seal in a Past Long Forgotten," mounts a psychoanalytic reading Edgar Allan Poe's story "William Wilson" as means of clarifying of the central character's struggle. The Dean's Prize honors the best essays written for 200-level and above courses in the area of literary or cultural criticism as judged by a panel of Department of English faculty.
