Christian Dahlstrom Selected to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week

Rockford University pitcher Christian Dahlstrom earned his first major award of the season on Tuesday when he was selected as a relief pitcher on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week. This is the third time in his career that Dahlstrom has been honored with a D3baseball.com Team of the Week selection, which is the most for any player in program history. He also becomes the second Regent to receive the award so far this season (Jared Herzog).

Christian Dahlstrom went 2-0 last week in a pair of relief appearances to help Rockford secure the final spot in the NACC South Division Tournament. Dahlstrom entered both games with the score tied and runners on first and second with two outs. He retired the first batter he faced both times, and then proceeded to pitch the remainder of each game without allowing a run. In total, Dahlstrom pitched 7.2 shutout innings, allowing just 6 hits and striking out 6.

The RU baseball team returns to the diamond on Friday, May 14 to face top-seeded Aurora University in the NACC South Division Tournament. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m. in Montgomery, Illinois.
