SCRANTON, PA (07/03/2013)(readMedia)-- Christine Sarah Ferrari of Exton was among just 25 members of The University of Scranton's Class of 2013 to graduate from the Jesuit university's Honors Program. She received a bachelor of science, summa cum laude, with a major in nursing with minors in Spanish and theology.
Ferrari's research project, "Pláticas de la presión arterial: Hypertension Education in the Hispanic Community," sought to educate members of the Hispanic community about the health dangers of high blood pressure. She was mentored by Margarete Zalon, Ph.D., a professor of nursing at the Jesuit university.
Ferrari is a member of Alpha Sigma Nu (the honor society for Jesuit universities and colleges), Sigma Theta Tau (the international nursing honors society) and Alpha Lambda Delta (national first-year honor society). Ferrari was a member of the Leahy Clinic for the Uninsured's Student Advisory Board. She was also a member of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Ferrari plans to work in a hospital and earn a Master's Degree in a nursing specialty.
Ferrari is a graduate of Villa Maria Academy in Malvern, Pa.
