MILTON , MA (04/08/2011)(readMedia)-- Curry College is pleased to announce that Rumson resident Christopher Friedel, son of Henry and Eve Friedel, will be playing the role of Clem in Curry Theatre's main stage performance of Bat Boy: The Musical.

Christopher is a 2009 graduate of Rumson Fair Haven High. Currently a sophomore double majoring in Communication and Psychology, Christopher has been seen on the Curry Theatre stage in Cate Buckley's Forbidden Dance, and was seen in last month's New Plays Festival 2011, in Justin Selig's Family Portrait.

Lifted from the front pages of certain tabloids, Bat Boy the Musical recounts the story of a half-bat, half-boy found living in a remote cave in West Virginia. He is captured, and the rural townsfolk struggle to decide his fate. Beyond the absurd and hysterical premise, the show deals with serious themes such as hypocrisy and acceptance, scapegoating and forgiveness, and racism and revenge. Packed with impressive music from rock to rap to opera with a dash of horror-movie score, Bat Boy is sure to entertain and leave the audience singing, "Don't deny your beast inside."

Bat Boy: The Musical will run Saturday, April 23 through Tuesday, April 26 at 7:30 pm in the Oscar B. and Frances A. Keith Auditorium at the Academic and Performance Center on the Curry College Milton Campus, 1071 Blue Hill Avenue, Milton, MA. Tickets are $10 and may be reserved at 617-333-2259 (Option 2).
