Christopher Hunt to Be Recognized at Valpo Homecoming

VALPARAISO, IN (09/23/2010)(readMedia)-- Christopher Hunt will be one of 16 alumni and volunteers recognized by the Valparaiso University Alumni Association during Homecoming festivities at the University this weekend. The honorees will be recognized during a special worship service at 10 a.m., September 26 in the Chapel of the Resurrection.

Hunt of Minneapolis, a 1978 graduate, will be honored with the Alumni Achievement Award, recognizing those who have achieved extraordinary success in their professional life.

Before earning his Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University, Hunt graduated cum laude from Concordia College, Moorhead with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He has worked for more than 30 years in private law practice in Minneapolis. Between 1979 and 1986 he worked for Peterson, Engherg, & Peterson before moving on to the firm of Messerli & Kramer, P.A. where he remained until 2000. Hunt currently is employed by Fredrikson & Byron, P.A. He holds various professional memberships with organizations such as the American College of Trust and Estate Council, the Minnesota State Bar Association, and the Minneapolis Estate Planning Council. In 2004, Hunt became one of only eight recipients since 1988 of the Eugene P. Daly Jr. award for service to the Minnesota State Bar Association. He also was named one of the Best Lawyers in America by Woodward/White. Hunt has served in many roles with his local Salvation Army chapter over the last 15 years and also for Valparaiso University. Hunt's wife, Sheryl (Hazlett), graduated from Valparaiso University in 1978.
