Christopher Sanborn of Leonardtown Awarded St. Mary's County Scholarship
ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (12/02/2011)(readMedia)-- Christopher Sanborn of Leonardtown, Maryland, is the recipent of a St. Mary's County Scholarship at St. Mary's College of Maryland. The scholarship was established by the St. Mary's County Commissioners and private donors to benefit academically talented students from St. Mary's County with financial need.
Sanborn, Class of 2012, is majoring in chemistry with a minor in mathematics. He is an intern at the Robert Becker Science Laboratory, a member of the St. Mary's American Chemical Society and and the national American Chemical Society, and has played almost every intramural sport at the college. Sanborn intends to pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
