City Harvest + Rank the Vote Educate Bronxites on Ranked Choice Voting

NEW YORK, NY (06/11/2021) (readMedia)-- On Saturday, the first day of Early Voting, City Harvest, in partnership with Rank the Vote NYC, will educate New Yorkers on Ranked Choice Voting. They will be at the two city harvest bronx sites below:

• City Harvest St. Mary's Mobile Market: Parking lot adjacent to 595 Trinity Ave., 930 AM to 11:30 AM
• City Harvest Melrose Mobile Market: Melrose Classic Center at 286 E. 156 Street, 930 AM to 11:30 AM

Ranked choice voting gives voters the opportunity to rank as many as five candidates in order of preference. If no candidate wins more than 50 percent of first choice votes, the candidate that came in last is eliminated and voters' second choice votes are distributed. This repeats until there's a majority winner. In the 2021 election, RCV applies to all primary races for City Council, Borough President, Comptroller, Public Advocate, and Mayor.
