Clay Brown Elected Judicial Alternate of Interfraternity Council at H-SC

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (05/07/2013)(readMedia)-- Claiborne Young Brown was recently elected Judicial Alternate of the Interfraternity Council (IFC) at Hampden-Sydney College. The IFC is the governing board of the Greek-letter social fraternities which have existed at the College for over 150 years.
A junior majoring in English, Clay served as Vice Chairman of the IFC this year and was President and House Manager of the social fraternity Kappa Sigma. He worked on the student newspaper, The Hampden-Sydney Tiger, and is a member of the honorary society, the Society for Collegiate Journalists. Clay is a graduate of Matthew F. Maury High School and is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Edward L. Brown of Norfolk.
A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
