Clayton Native Drew Menez Named to All-SCIAC 2nd Team

WHITTER, CA (06/06/2012)(readMedia)--  Drew Menez a Whittier College Senior from Clayton, CA proved to be one of the most proficient scorers in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athlectics Conference (SCIAC) and finished the year 2nd in the SCIAC standings in scoring with 437 points averaging 16.8 ppg. He played in all 26 games and shot 49% from the field.

In 2009 he made 1st Team All-SCIAC and led the SCIAC in scoring and has followed that up with another impressive senior year as he continued to throw game winning shots throughout the season.

The first coming against Cal Maritime where he scored seven of the Poets eleven points in overtime including a three that put the Poets up by three that clinched the 88-82 victory.

The second game changing experience came in the double overtime victory against nationally ranked Claremont-M-S where he sank a three at the end of the first overtime to force a second. Once in the second overtime he took control and totaled nine of Whittier's fourteen points to help The Poets achieve the upset win.

Drew Menez graduated from Whittier College on May 11, 2012 with Outstanding Senior Athlete Honors.
