ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (12/02/2011)(readMedia)-- Lauren Dellman of Cockeysville, Maryland, is the recipient of the Joseph and Lesley Urgo Endowed Scholarship at St. Mary's College of Maryland. The scholarship was established in 2010 by the Urgos to benefit students with financial need.

Dellman, Class of 2013, is majoring in English and economics. She is a peer mentor, part of the residence life advisory group, and a tutor for the economics department. Dellman intends to pursue a career in economics.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
