Coker Cobras Head to NCAA Division II Baseball Championship
HARTSVILLE, S.C. - (05/22/2013)(readMedia)-- The Coker College baseball team is extending its season. The Cobras earned their first-ever trip to the NCAA tournament, and after a Southeast regional championship are headed to the 2013 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship held May 25-June 1 at the USA National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
Keith Wolf, a senior second baseman from O'Fallon, Ill., is a member of the baseball team. He attended O'Fallon Township High School. Wolf is the son of Dave and Cindy Wolf.
The Cobras (38-14) advanced to the next level in the postseason after winning the championship at the Southeast Region Tournament in Mt. Olive, N.C. The Cobras played their final game at the tournament against Georgia College, and came away with a 7-2 victory on May 19.
The Cobras' first game of the NCAA Division II Baseball National Championship will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 26 against the University of Tampa, the South region champions.
