Coker College Student Devan Williams Presents at Humanities Conference

HARTSVILLE, SC (02/29/2012)(readMedia)-- Coker College student Devan Williams, of Seneca, S.C., recently presented at the fourth annual Coker College Undergraduate Humanities Research Conference held Feb. 24-25 in Hartsville, S.C. The conference hosts undergraduate research papers each year addressing any topic of interest to English, Spanish, Latin-American, theater, art history, philosophy, history and communication scholars.

In her research paper, "Does Heroes Conform to Gender Stereotyping?," Williams examined the use of gendered stereotyping in popular culture and how it applies to the hit television show Heroes. She is a sophomore communication major at Coker.
