Coker's Kirkwood, Loraine on Watch List
HARTSVILLE, S.C. (02/13/2013)(readMedia)-- Coker College baseball players Ernie Kirkwood (Horseheads High) and Zach Loraine (Fort Zumwalt West) have been named to the Collegiate Baseball magazine 'Players to Watch' list for the 2013 season.
Kirkwood, a 5-foot-10-inch outfielder, was named to the 'Newcomers to Watch' list. He is a transfer student from Niagara County Community College in New York. As a sophomore he hit .351 with 11 doubles, seven triples and 31 runs scored; as a freshman he had the highest batting average on the team at .363.
Kirkwood is originally from Horseheads, N.Y. He is the son of Ernest and Candy Kirkwood.
Loraine, a 6-foot-3-inch right-handed pitcher, was named to the 'South East Region Preseason Players to Watch' list. He transferred to Coker this year from Lindenwood University in Missouri. During his two seasons at Lindenwood, Loraine hit .311 with 12 doubles, five triples and four homers. He also posted a 2.45 ERA.
Loraine is originally from Lake St. Louis, Mo. He is the son of Lance and Eva Loraine.
