College of Medicine Students Inducted into Gold Humanism Honor Society at Northeast Ohio Medical University

Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) recently celebrated the induction of its 10th class of physicians and student physicians into the NEOMED Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) July 24 in the Ralph Regula Conference and Event Center. The Class of 2014 inductees were nominated by faculty, staff and fellow medical students for continually exemplifying humanism in medicine, especially those tenets embraced by the society: sensitivity and respect for others, full acceptance of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds, compassion and empathetic treatment of all persons, recognition of other's needs and autonomy, a willingness to put patient needs ahead of one's own, a sense of optimism about the human condition, and a moral obligation to serve the community.
