College's New Summer Reunion to Take Advantage of Warm-Weather Offerings

PLATTSBURGH, NY (05/27/2010)(readMedia)-- SUNY Plattsburgh has added a new program to its alumni lineup.

Summer Reunion 2010 will focus on graduates from classes ending in '0 or '5, inviting them to return to the campus June 11-13.

Taking advantage of the warm weather, activities will include a golf outing at Harmony Golf Club in Port Kent, a barbecue at the Naked Turtle, a Tent Party at Geoffrey's and a Northern Lights Cruise on Lake Champlain.

Alumni may even register for on-campus housing and relive their college experience in Macdonough Hall.

"We are very much looking forward to this new program," said Director of Alumni Relations Joanne Nelson. "Our events are designed to rekindle lifelong friendships and build new ones – and now alumni will be able to do that while basking in the sun."

In addition to programming for adults, this year's lineup boasts activities for alumni families, including a family scavenger hunt and a Cardinal Kids Fun Night. At the Fun Night, student ambassadors will supervise as children partake in games, a pizza dinner, a movie and popcorn, freeing up parents to enjoy other Reunion festivities. A minimum of 15 children must be signed up for this by June 1 in order for this offering to take place.
