Colorado National Guard Commander Dana Capozzella Honored By St. Lawrence University

CANTON, NY (06/08/2012)(readMedia)-- National Guard Brigadier General Dana Capozzella, based in Woodland Park, was honored by her alma mater, St. Lawrence University, with an Alumni Citation presented in a ceremony during Reunion Weekend on campus in Canton, New York.
Capozzella is a 1987 graduate of St. Lawrence. Alumni Citations awarded to individuals for exemplary professional accomplishment or community volunteer activities.
Capozzella assumed her duties in October 2009. She supports the adjutant general as a primary advisor on all Army National Guard matters. She also serves as commander of the Colorado National Guard, responsible for the readiness, training and policies for the Colorado Army National Guard to support its state and federal mission.
Gen. Capozzella was commissioned in 1987 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at St. Lawrence. After commissioning, she served in various assignments on active duty and in the Army Reserves, transferring to the Colorado Army National Guard in January 2000.
