Common Cause/NY Releases Party Housekeeping Report
Highlights LLC contributions and the double money cascade
NEW YORK, NY (04/08/2016)(readMedia)-- Common Cause/NY will release a new report on contributions to party Housekeeping accounts in New York State. The report will highlight LLC contributions to these accounts and the need to close the infamous "loophole" which treats limited liability companies as individuals, subject to the much higher contribution limits. Combined with Housekeeping accounts that can accept limitless amounts of money, these two funding streams converge to create a cascade of influence.
Common Cause/NY will also call on the Governor and Legislature to close the loophole and enact other important anti-corruption measures before the end of session.
