Common Cause/NY Responds to Governor Cuomo's Package of Election Reforms

NEW YORK, NY (12/21/2017) (readMedia)-- Today, Governor Cuomo announced a series of proposals to improve election cyber security and transparency, as well as a pitch for Early Voting in his State of the State.

Susan Lerner, Executive Director of Common Cause/NY responds:

"For our democracy to function, we must have a voting process that deserves our trust. New York has an obligation to provide its voters secure, fair and accurate elections. While Governor Cuomo's recent push in cyber security and transparency for elections is an important step forward to ensure that New York's elections remain fair and safe, our basic voting processes also demand improvement. Common Cause/NY urges the Governor to include Early Voting in his upcoming budget to create a more equitable voting process for all."
