NEW YORK, NY (07/12/2018) (readMedia)-- On Wednesday, Common Cause/NY issued a letter to Attorney General Underwood, demanding an investigation into State Senator Hamilton's nonprofit, Lincoln Civic Block Association (LCBA).

"It's disquieting that Senator Hamilton has illegally used his non-profit for political gain. It's bad enough he operates a campaign office in a residential apartment specifically earmarked for low-income New Yorkers, he's used the nonprofit to violate campaign finance law for his own advantage," said Susan Lerner, Executive Director of Common Cause/NY. "Common Cause/NY calls on Attorney General Underwood to investigate this convoluted self-dealing situation immediately. New Yorkers deserve elected officials who put their constituents first and make at least some effort to follow all applicable laws."

The letter, which is attached, outlines apparent illegal use of LCBA resources, questionable use of corporate assets, derelection of corproate officer duty, and more.
