Community Performance Series Previews 2017-18 Season

CPS Finalizing Details for 2017-18 Guest Artist Series and Meet the Arts Series

POTSDAM, NY (06/29/2017) (readMedia)-- Community Performance Series will once again bring distinctive and renowned musical guests and engaging educational opportunities to the North Country in its 2017-18 season.

The production of a summer musical theatre series this July, however, will not be a part of this year's programming.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce our decision regarding summer musicals. The summer series has been a highlight to our season for years. However, the decision was one of necessity due to staff transitions, coupled with a financial challenge related to a grant no longer available to CPS. We are exploring other funding sources and possible collaborations, but without a permanent source of funding for a summer theatre program, we cannot at this time make a commitment to the timing of possible future musical productions," said Interim Operations Director Jason L. Dominie.

CPS is currently finalizing the details of an exciting 2017-18 Guest Artist Series and Meet the Arts season. More information will become available in July, and tickets will go on sale in August. Among schedule items already finalized are renowned fiddler Martin Hayes and guitarist Dennis Cahill's traditional Irish music performance on Sept. 16, a family theatre performance of the National Players' "Alice in Wonderland" on Oct. 19, and a holiday concert with the Vienna Boys Choir on Dec. 6.

CPS season brochures will be mailed in July to those currently on the mailing list. If you would like to be added to the mailing list, please email, or send a request to Community Performance Series, 44 Pierrepont Ave., Potsdam, NY 13676.
